Friday Five baby!
What cologne or perfume do you wear?
To be honest I don’t really know. I think it’s Ralph Lauren’s Romance for Men. I’m too used to either my g/f or my sis getting cologne for me, so who needs to look right? Haven’t gotten any complaints yet.
What cologne or perfume do you like best on the opposite sex?
None. I tend to be with women who do not need make-up or perfume to smell/look good (if we’re going out then a bit’s ok, but nothing overboard). What can I say, I prefer natural beauty.
what one smell can you not stomach?
Raw sea urchins at the sushi place, the only thing I will never eat again.
What smell do you like that others might consider weird?
The smell of skunks… don’t ask, I don’t know why…
How do you plan to spend your weekend?
Working yet again setting up the customer service area. Perhaps going to play some pool somewhere… Who knows… I like the spontaneity of non-planned weekends.
Ahhh, it’s good to be back.
For those of ya who are wondering what happened the past few days, one of the hard drives in my server went plop plop fizz fizz all due to a faulty and very loud fan. Luckily, it was the system drive so all of my important stuff was on the other working drive… See, one thing I learned from the years of experience with computers is to never save crap on the C drive and always have more than one physical drive in a machine just in case shit like this happens. So I brought it to my friend adrian’s place to check it out and we went to the CompUSA near him to get a new drive for me. Fortunately, they had a good sale on the 40GB 5400rpm (I don’t see much of a difference between these and the 7200 ones) Western Digital drives so I picked one up. We went back to his place and got it back up and running super smooth… I needed his help the most help with recovering the most important part (my database) and that took a few good tries. After that everything else went super smooth thanks to his expert toodlage. Thanks man! 🙂
Then I carted it to my job where I “borrowed” an IP address and made a few DNS changes, so that I could keep it here under my watchful eye and all has been going good so far… 🙂 Plus, I get to take advantage of the UPS as well so it’s all gravy… The only problem is that we have a slow ass internet connection (384kb T1) so I had to move all of the images I use to my linux box which has a faster net connection (768kb sDSL) so, in some cases, a few images will load up before the text on this site from now on…
Other than this geek fest, nothing much has happened this week to me… Because of the whole server fiasco I got to take off tuesday and wednesday so it really wasn’t all that bad. 🙂
