Finally back

Whew! That was sure a busy week or so since my last post.

All is well in my neck of the woods. Thanksgiving went by very well this year. We actually had 2 dinners at home because my sister had to work in the afternoon so we had a “big” Thanksgiving lunch consisting of ham and random Spanish goodies before she left for work. Then later on in the day when the rest of the family came over, we had our little turkey and Spanish feast along with LoTR: Fellowship of the Rings playing in the background since my uncle never managed to see any of them. My brother managed to find my *cough* “archived” *cough* copy of the movie and we were in business for the rest of the night. The next few days I pretty much spent working on my personal machine at home and also coming in to work to take care of everything that needed to be done over the next few days.

Sunday night my sister called me to tell me that her boyfriend proposed to her. I was completely surprised and happy that those two are taking this new step with their lives. I was actually up there wondering when that was going to happen and he actually wanted to do it in front of the family on Thanksgiving, but she had to work and everything so he held it off to the weekend. I’m also very glad he did it the right way and asked both of my parents for permission before asking her. Man, my mom must have been going through hell keeping that secret from my sister.

On Monday I wound up leaving work early to go back to the doctor’s office for the results of all of those tests I had and everything came out fine. First off, OMFG is my doctor fucking hot! She was wearing these nice high fuck me boots with a long skirt with a slit up the side. Her hair was all ruffled up like she got some before coming in and for a slightly older woman, WOW is she FIIIINE! Not sure if many of you know, but I have a huge thing for older women. My guess is that it all started when I was 22 and was completely seduced by a 39 year old then and then the year after a 43 year old. Anyhoo, turns out she believes that extreme influx of candy I had the day of the first “attack” wound up causing all of the problems the following few days. My blood work, EKG and sonogram all pretty much stated my heart’s a strong little bitch and that there’s no big problems with me other than slightly elevated sodium (but well within normal range) and a weight problem. So, I’m under direct orders by my supah-fine doc to get my ass to a gym and bring down my weight level which will then bring down the sodium with a slight change to my diet (stay away from Campbell’s soups which I eat a ton of).

Unfortunately, my last batch of blood work failed to give me my cholesterol count so the doc had me get another couple of blood drawings yesterday for that and something else she is checking for. Speaking of the blood work, I went to a more local Qwest Diagnostics yesterday and it was a very nice one. I was the only one there as well so the service went super fast. No, I didn’t get a hottie nurse like the last time, but she was such a n00b. She tried to take blood from my left arm and kept on missing the vein. First she went in and didn’t get anything, so she moved it all over the place while the needle was inside which felt a wee bit uncomfortable. After half a minute of this, I told her she should try the right arm and it worked like a charm. I’m so glad I don’t get squeamish with that stuff because I would have been in hell with her moving that needle inside me so much. I told my g/f the story and she nearly passed out.

In a few days, I’ll find out the results of those blood drawings and chalk it all up until mid-April when my doc wants to see me again in a much more fit condition. You know, I didn’t notice a wedding band (or the wedding band tan-line) either… 😉

Glad to hear all is well with the labwork you got back.

“so she moved it all over the place while the needle was inside which felt a wee bit uncomfortable.”

I soooooo know what you are talking about and that’s about the time I start feeling sick to my stomach.

I hope you’re OK. Did I miss a post?

I have the same problem with blood tests, they can never find my vein. Once they bruised up both my arms and sent me home without a blood test because they poked around too much. Another time, they did it in the top part of my hand. I warn them before hand now, and ask for the most experienced blood testing person they have or tell them to do it in my hand. But I don’t let them poke around anymore. UGH.

Congrats for your sister too, btw.

LMAO.. your too much!! Fuck me boots?? lol
But ewww i’ve been the the Qwest in Howell before the nurses there are frigin idiots!! She stuck the needle in and started moving it around i was screaming cuz it hurt so bad (oh yea and cuz i’m totally afraid of needles and i’m a baby lol), she was just like oooh its fine no big deal. The next day my arm was all bruised from that!! 🙁

Hehe, yeah. It wasn’t pretty to watch, but I’m glad I don’t freak over it otherwise I would have been going insane!

Yeah, much better now that I have some better answers. Thanks for asking. 🙂

OH MAN!!!! You have some serious cojones there! I had it done in my hand (IV insertions actually) twice and it was the absolute most painful thing I have ever experienced in my entire life. I’ve been kicked in the nuts, punched, hit a wall doing 60mph, burned, injected with drugs in my lips and would gladly do either of those instead of getting my hand done like that. OwOwOwOwOwOw!

=)

Oh yeah! Slap on them boots and wear a long skirt and I’m a damn puddle I tell ya! *lol*

I’ve actually heard about that Qwest and you’re so right! I have been to the one in East Brunswick which wasn’t too bad and had a major hottie nurse but the wait was very long. The one in Jamesburg (most recent one) was a very nice place and the service was speedy. Apparently, if they get more than 20 people in a day, they’re busy. O_o
