Words can’t express how supremely geeky I feel now,
I have no clue how I found this site a few days ago, but I knew it was worth bookmarking. I finally remembered about it just now and decided to give it a try.
I downloaded the necessary encoders and streaming utilities from Micro$oft, and set it all up in less than 5 minutes. I browsed to my machine and while I was waiting for the stream to buffer, I was giddier than a school girl when I was watching Family Guy on my PocketPC.
I can now stream video from my TV card wirelessly onto my PocketPC from anywhere in my place. So if I’m in the bathroom, outside on the patio or working on my car, I can watch Star Trek any damn time I want to now… I suppose you can also stream out an entire movie to a dorm or office if you have it pick up the signal coming from your video card while playing a DVD.
Hmmmm… Now I have something to try at work tomorrow…. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Wanna see? I recorded it using Devina’s new toy, but it seems it doesn’t like recording video in a darkened room. It really does do a great job with the video and the audio is fairly decent taking into account the speed of the wifi card on the Axim. Anyway, I should have realized to turn down the TV in the room so that’s what you hear in the background.
