Awarding failure

Is it me or does this just make no sense whatsoever.

Principal of school with low scores gets high praise

I don’t care if that principal knitted sweaters for all of the students in the damn building. I can’t for the life of me see why she is getting an “excellence in education” award when only 3.5% of the students pass the math, 18.3% pass the science and 19.7% pass the language arts segments of the proficiency exams. In all but one exam, her school scored into LAST place on these tests.

Yet, she gets kudos for educating these students that she obviously failed miserably. You know what? Only in Jersey does this happen…

Seriously folks, what type of message is this sending to the children of that school?
