Just bought myself a nice Christmas gift.
Here’s the specs:
P4 running at 2.6 GHz with a 533 MHz FSB
128 MB of DDR SDRAM RAM
64 MB GeForce4 video card
Free upgrade to a 120GB ATA/100 hard drive
Free 40x/10x/40x CD-RW drive
Windows XP Pro
Built-in NIC and modem
Optical USB mouse, keyboard and 6 USB 2.0 ports
Harmon Kardon speakers which I’ll probably sell on eBay.
3 Year Next-Day warranty
All for a nice and toasty $800 with free shipping and a $100.00 mail-in rebate which will bring down the final price to $700. I opted not to get a monitor because I have 2 17″ Dell monitors gathering dust here. I also opted for the low RAM because I can get 1 GB worth of it from my usual source for roughly 250. If I got the RAM upgrade through Dell, I would have had to pay like twice as much. The built-in sound blows, but I have a spare SB Live! 5.1 sound card lying around and as for the video card it’s just OK. I did not want to spend the 320 bucks for the upgrade to the 128 MB Radeon 9700 Pro, so I opted for the GeForce4 card instead. I figured early next year I’ll just get the Radeon on eBay for half that price and be set for a good 2 to 3 years on the gaming side. 🙂
Oh man I can’t wait till it gets here.
