This weekend was one of the better weekends I have had in a long while. Almost all of Saturday was spent in New York city hanging out with Devina. As expected, Madame Tussauds was a really kick ass place and of course there are tons of pictures taken by me that you can all view.
Anyhoo, there were quite a number of wax figures there and almost all of them were really good and true to the subjects’ likenesses. There were however some really god awful ones that looked like someone tripping on acid were sculpting them. John Travolta was rather horrid as well as Diana Ross and Prince. I would have taken pics of them but I didn’t want to waste precious RAM on my camera. It also turns out that the Rock will be added to their collection this coming January (big whoop).
After Tussauds we walked up and down Times Square lookin’ at all the purty lights, homey restaurants, discount stores and seemingly classy strip clubs/porn shops. It started getting colder so we hailed down a cab, got surprised at the white guy driving it and went down to my favorite Mexican restaurant, Tio Pepe on West 4th in the Village. Once there we properly scarfed down some Arroz con Pollo (you know for a Mexican restaurant, it was really freagin’ good!) and drank a nice Rioja. then afterwards, our drunk asses headed across the street to the Birthday Suit to check out the lovely window display. Once in there, we started yakking it up with everyone and had the biggest ball with these two (really really cute by the way) salesgirls who you could tell were really aching to leave the place and go to some party or clubbing. After we picked up some fun stuff we headed out to do some more shopping down 6th Avenue and of course making a pit stop at Gray’s so that I could down a hot dog or two. Now one thing you need to know about me is that if I am ever in the city I have to stop at Gray’s and have at least one hot dog. I don’t know what it is about them but they are sooooooo addictive. 🙂 I think they pump them full of drugs if you ask me.
So, we started getting tired and more drunk, so we hopped back down to New Brunswick and got a place to crash at the Hyatt in New Brunswick. Normally, I love the place, but this time some asswipe check-in dude was sooo freaky.
Check this out.
I’m there checking in, I give him the credit card, he’s settin’ up my room and as he hands me my room key (well card really) he says, “I can’t believe you don’t remember me David…” to which I just give him a weird look. I simply say no and he gets even more upset and then he starts to really freak me out by telling me stuff about my past when I was in Rutgers like who my girlfriend was and where I lived and stuff. Now I’m crazily buzzing through the RoloDex file that is my head to see if I can remember this guy and for the life of me, I can’t. Then he proceeds to tell me that I gained so much weight and how I don’t look as good as I used to and I’m like “fucking excuse me asshole?!?!” I don’t know who you are, so your bitch-ass gets all in a prissy huff and you start to insult me?? You should have seen this ass lick too, he had to be at least 300 pounds and a half a foot smaller than me with a played out flattop and so many potmarks all over his face it wasn’t funny. He literally looked like a really short Patrick Ewing. So he sees me starting to get really upset and he starts freaking out and telling me more stuff about my past to which I have NO clue how he knew. From our conversation though, I gathered that he was gay and he was also significantly older than me (I’d say in his 40’s). So, I really don’t know how I knew this guy when I was in my early 20’s. Nevertheless just as he was spouting more stalker-like information, I looked at him and very calmly said that I didn’t know him and that if he persisted I would get the manager and get him in very big trouble. This really quickly shut him up and he gave me my keys. I went to get Devina, we went upstairs and about an hour later I went and got my room changed and all was good after that. How freaky was that shit?!?
The morning comes, we head on out back to New Brunswick, go back to my parents’ place and cook up a storm for our family.. 🙂 So all in all, it was a very good weekend with the exception of the psycho dood at the Hyatt.
