Friday Five, social quirks

Friday Five baby!

Would you say that you’re good at keeping in touch with people?
I am probably one of the worst people who keeps in touch with their friends physically. This is mostly because of my job’s demands on time, so I keep in touch via e-mail and messenger programs. Who knows though, perhaps my next one will be a bit more normal and I can get back into the swing of things.

Which communication method do you usually prefer/use: e-mail, telephone, snail mail, blog comments, or meeting in person? Why?
Well, I actually love meeting people I chat with on-line and have met about 20 or so of my chat buddies in some form or another. I usually stick with messenger types of programs simply because of their real-time nature.

Do you have an instant messenger program? How many? Why/why not? How often do you use it?
I use the big three: AOL, Yahoo! and MSN. I am always on Yahoo! and MSN because they have the nifty hide feature which doesn’t pop up a message in the middle of working on something. I have been embarrassed way too many times when an inappropriate message pops up with AOL Instant Messenger. Usually, my boss or some other important person is standing right next to me and a friend will send me a dirty joke or something. Talk about embarrassment… 😉

Do most of your close friends live nearby or far away?
My closest friends love close by to where I live.

Are you an “out of sight, out of mind” person, or do you believe that “distance makes the heart grow fonder”?
I firmly believe that distance does make the heart grow fonder, especially with relationships.
